David: A great game on a pleasant Thursday evening on the carpet at King George’s Park! Despite dry conditions throughout the day, the court was still wet from the overnight rain but we pressed on regardless! Harry beat me in straight sets at Wimbledon Park a month ago and the outcome was similar here! I recovered from 0-30 down to win the opening game but my joy was short-lived as Harry fought back and won the next five games in a row! Harry served extremely well, played aggressive groundstrokes and I failed to find any kind of rhythm! Finally, I held serve in the seventh game to reduce the deficit to 5-2 but Harry wasted little time and clinched the opening set with relative ease! The second set started in a similar vein and Harry continued to make inroads! Harry raced into a 2-0 lead and was threatening to blow me out of sight! A marathon game with some epic rallies followed and I somehow held serve and got on the scoreboard! After using up a lot of energy, Harry sensed weakness and soon made it 4-1. However, I somehow raised myself off the canvas and won the next three games to level the set at 4-4. I took a commanding 40-15 lead in the ninth game but lost the next point and then missed a gilt-edged chance to move 5-4 ahead when I struck a forehand into the net! I was soon punished as Harry won the final two games to clinch a deserved victory! Well played Harry! This was a shorter match but we both played at a higher standard in slippery conditions! Despite my best efforts, you were too good today! Your serve was excellent as you found the corners with pace and I struggled to return the ball! I hope you manage to fit in some matches before the season ends and best of luck!

Dan: A battle of a game with Kelson, who was a really tough opponent. Intense rallies that could have gone either way in game points. Shame we didn’t have time to get a 3rd set in but hope to play you again soon
