Fotis: We had to play the match over 2 sessions, a testament to the fierce competition between Benny and I. In our second encounter in the leagues, I managed to even the overall score in the leagues to 1-1. Thanks for all the fun Benny !

David: An enthralling contest with Valerio on a glorious Monday evening at Lammas Park in Ealing! The match went on for almost two hours but Valerio was more clinical in key moments and secured a hard-earned victory! I made an excellent start in the opening set and raced into a 3-0 lead. Valerio took the next game but I restored my advantage and made it 4-1. I was just two games away from clinching the first set but Valerio had other ideas! Despite my best efforts, Valerio raised his level and turned the tables in his favour, winning the next five games in a row to move into the overall lead! Valerio had all the momentum and continued where he left off in the second set. It was soon 3-0 to Valerio and I was sinking without trace! Valerio had won nine games in a row at this stage and I needed to act fast! Eventually I managed to rediscover my previous form and subsequently reduced the deficit to 3-2. I was close to drawing level but Valerio edged 4-2 ahead. Although I won what Valerio later described as the crucial seventh game and made it 4-3, I had nothing left in the tank and Valerio closed out the victory! Well played Valerio! You made me run all over the court by hitting accurate groundstrokes and your backhand in particular was very strong! After the first three games, you made very few errors! Despite suffering a fourth defeat in a row, I thoroughly enjoyed the long rallies in the stifling heat and hopefully will come back stronger next time! I really enjoyed meeting you and best of luck in the rest of your matches! I hope we will meet again!
